What it does

If the glass breaks, the film keeps the pieces together.

Glass held by film takes longer to get through.

Less flying glass if a window is hit.

The film is clear, so your view and your light stay the same.
How it works
Security film is a thicker, tougher film fitted to the inside of the glass. When the glass is hit, the pieces stay stuck to the film instead of falling out.
It is not bulletproof and it does not make glass unbreakable. What it does is slow someone down and keep broken glass in one piece.
We look at each window and door when we visit, then recommend the film thickness and, where it helps, a way of holding the film to the frame so the whole pane stays in place.
